EXCERPTS

[I've read this book in paper form. Instead of the usual excerpts I am providing my notes and thoughts.]

Imagine you only have half a year of life left. How would you spend it? These are your core goals. These don't change materially or often.

Speak less, listen to others.

Win-win or No deal!

While we can't do anything about many things that happen to us, we can always choose how to react. If we don't consciously choose our reaction, the things will affect us! Nothing wrong with that except when they affect us in a negative way.

Fist things first; the things that matter to you do most shall not be at mercy of things that matter less (or even don't matter at all!).

Don't make promisses you can't hold.

You build integrity/ trust in absence of others! (By refraining from gossiping, dissemination of confidential information etc. you build trust with people. People with whom you don't share such information hence trust you that also their secrets will be safe with you.)

Focus on results, not methods.

Influence, not recognition should be the motive.

For the harder I work the more I live.

Your economic security does not lie in your job. I lies in your own power to produce. It is not having wealth; it is having the power to produce wealth.
